Giddy Up!

Ride 'em cowboy! Yeehaw! I got a hankerin' for some country living! lol

I love the country. When we lived in Connecticut, we lived in the town of Lebanon and it was very spread out. We lived in one of two apartment complexes in the town. Our backyard met up with the woods. The middle school was across the street up the hill, next to a convenience store and on the other side was the high school. I should have stayed put! Nearest town was 30 minutes away on both sides but I loved it! We didn't hear sirens... it was peacefully quiet. We were 20 minutes from the beach too! I don't know what possessed me to leave?

Here in Texas, I use to live out by the airport which, technically, is not the country but it may very well have been! The roads were dirt and I remember Christmas 2009 spending it stranded at my home because we had snow and cars weren't going anywhere! When I glanced down the road, most of my neighbors had their vehicles stuck in the road as well. If I needed ANYTHING at the last minute... it was a 20 minute drive into town to the nearest convenience store. It was peaceful... to a point... we were by the airport after all. :-\ lol But that commute into town for a loaf of bread just KILLED ME! :(

So this image reminded me of country living, it filled my need for country life but I'm still in the city! :) Here's my card:
Card stock is all retired Stampin' Up paper. The sentiment comes from two separate Raisin Boat clear stamp sets. The image is a Karen Sheltrown image called Cowboy and I've colored it with Copic markers. I've kept it very simple because it is for a man. Took everything I had to keep from adding glitter to his scarf and belt buckle. He's wearing chaps so I thought it best NOT to add sparkle of any kind. :)

Tomorrow is the last day to join us for our #5 Anything Goes Challenge! Don't miss out! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
